A Modern Satanist immediately recognizes one of his or her own. Even a brief encounter can often lead to a lifetime of friendship. It is a rare, dark blessing to find the one or two men and woman with whom you can share freely and eloquently on topics that inspire and create greatness.

The Cyber Grotto is more than just a message-board, it is a meeting place of friends from all over the globe. No longer are we separated by oceans or borders, the world is as small as your computer screen where you are able to exchange ideas with Satanists from every walk of life.

The chat-room allows for real-time interaction, but remember that users may be in a different time-zone to your own. It is a good idea to check into the chat-room every time you log on; you may be able to join a conversation, or start one of your own.

 

Satanic Tradition

In 1513 when Niccolo Machiavelli wrote about the true nature of politics and leadership in The Prince, he outlined much of our current Satanic philosophy. Nearly 500 years ago he suggested that humans were free from conformity and were free to pursue their Will, along with hedonistic pleasures.

In the 1780’s, the Marquis de Sade discussed the absurdity of God and became famous for his carnal pursuits. A century later the much-quoted Friedrich Nietzsche declared ‘God is Dead’ and just twenty five years later Aleister Crowley transcribed that we all are gods. Anton Szandor LaVey embraced that which they had all written and gave it a title when in 1966 he formed the Church of Satan and wrote the Satanic Bible several years later. The great minds of the past inspire the great minds of our generation.

A Satanist needs no church.

A Satanist needs no organization or church to be a Satanist. A person need only declare themselves as Satan and strive to be a god by living a Satanic lifestyle. Yet we must not deny our underlying nature as a social animal. To satisfy this need, the Modern Church of Satan created a community where like-minded individuals can congregate. It is incredibly fulfilling to be associated with others who thirst for knowledge and success, who are compelled to better themselves and who knowingly squeeze every moment out of life, living each day as if it may be their last.

 

Is this your Satanism?

Modern Satanists demand more from their church and their leaders. We are not mindless sheep who blindly follow whatever is bleated to us. We question everything. If a statement is made then we expect it to be realistic, its goals obtainable, and most importantly, we demand to see our leaders work tirelessly towards these goals. Anton Szandor LaVey had a bold and daring vision to start a new Satanic movement, he worked hard and accomplished his goal by writing The Satanic Bible, The Satanic Rituals and The Satanic Witch.

His memory stands today as a reminder and model of what a person can do in the face of religious slavery. He was instrumental in breaking our bonds and setting us free, and so his memory is held in high esteem and respect among the Satanic community.

The goals of the MCoS are that our members learn to live a life of verve and excellence, that each member discovers their own true Will, and that they come to realize their full potential as gods.
In order to accomplish this, the MCoS will strive to be the finest resource available for those following the Left Hand Path. Our Libertine system helps to facilitate one’s learning, and we provide an interactive forum for discussion and advice with Exemplars who provide teaching and mentorship.
