So, I'm turning 40 in about 6 months and I wanted to say that through exercise like Jumping Stilts, Skateboarding and Parkour and watching my diet (especially over the last few weeks) I am now going into my fourth decade at the lowest weight I have been in 15 years and the fittest I have been in longer than that. I'm not going to say how, unless you really want to know, I started this thread purely to brag. That's right, PURELY to brag.

Congratulations. 40 can be a challenging Birthday. I read someplace that exercise slows the aging process, so keep at it

Ahhhh 40. It's but a distant memory. They say 40 is the new 30, and 50 is the new 40.
I'm glad to hear you are keeping in shape - why not share some of those tips in our our health and fitness section?

Congrats! I know a couple of people who through dedication and discipline are maintaining a healthy and fit body. I lift weights with a 63 year old that looks like a 30 year old professional body builder. Again, congrats and I don't blame you one bit for bragging.

I figure new state, new move new effort - why not go hard!? *G* Well then, that was January. I realise I have been away a while but what can I say? I have been achieveing goals! *G* On March 5 I drew my line in the sand on this score. It is now April 12 and I have hit my first weightloss target which was 10 kg. I look forward to being in a bit more often soon! Fraternally BTP

Grym, I don't do any of that and my health is not great but not terrible either. I will be turning 40 in 8 months and really never expected to live this long. After years of heavy drug use I never really expected to live past 30, now I'm still here but my heart is worn the fuck out. I lift weights on occasion but I really have trouble getting myself to work out (even though I know it would help me both physically and mentally). I'm 6ft tall and 270lbs, I can carry a cast iron V8 block, a fully assembled 4cyl. engine, or an aluminum housed transmission around with my hands but I'm definately not in shape. I've got one of those cable weight machines and I had to stack horseshoes on top of the other weights to make it a challenge but then I fucked my shoulder up late last year and for about 6 months I couldn't lift shit, at least not with my left arm but I'm working on building it back up. Glad to see others my age in good shape but I gotta get motivated or I'll just keep getting lazier.

Hahahahah Let's just say that forty is well in the rear view mirror, but I can still deadlift close to 2x body weight and ride 35 miles in two hours on my bike. But yes, I do see people close to my age shopping in the store on the weekend who can hardly walk and who are leaning on their shopping carts. You know what I really miss? Sleep deprivation, as from serious jet lag across six plus time zones, really hammers me now. Time was, it was no matter at all. Not so now. XPT
