ALL Satanists tend to focus on humanity and freedom from Christianity more that Luciferians, but BOTH hold the quest for truth sacred.

Satanism focuses on the carnal more than Luciferians.
Gnostic Luciferans- focus on Garden of Eden, snake, believe Jehova to be an evil, incompetent "god" and lucifer to be brienger of knowledge. based off of old gnostic groups.
Theistic Lucferians are like Theistic Satanists only focus on lighter-bearer, enlightenment. Some view as different religions. Modern Luciferians are similar in attitude, but are atheistic like Modern Satanists and view Lucifer as an ideal and are other than that practically the same. Laveyan Satanists sometimes idolize Lavey but most dont. they are extremely similar to modern Satanists but modern satanists are more freethinkinging. Modern Luciferians are to Theistic Luciferians as Modern Satanists are to theistic Satanists
Traditional Satanists usually view Satan as a pre Christian diety. can be pantheistic or even panentheistic. Traditional Satanists are to Traditional Luciferians as Gnostic Satanists are to Gnostic Luciferians and as Modern Satanists are to Modern Luciferians. Some Traditional Satanists are also polythiestic. Alot of satanists both theistic and nontheistic are anti-christian while luciferians arent, but can be. This was better, but the other notes on this I didnt save so thats my stupidity. This is less organized, my notes that I forgot to save were better, but the same comcept.

The Modern Church of Satan - Practices modern satanism. "satanism has evolved"

The Church of Satan- The first Satanist church. Practices Laveyan Satanism, founded by Anton LaVey himself. many left because they changed their ways, according to some, since Anton died.

First Church of Satan- Practices modern satanism, very anti-CoS.

Temple of Set- Does not define themselves as Satanic. They follow Setian philosophy, which is "enlightened individualism" they believe Set is a deity, and worship him. Anti Satanic- and Anti CoS. They accually formed from a break-away CoS member.

I have some big issues with FCoS and the Allee Shadow Tradition. John Allee slams LaVey outright using quotes from Satan Speaks! For those who have read that book, it's easy to recognize that his supposed 'proof' of LaVey being a fraud are done with quotes that are selective and do not actually embody what the Doktor was attempting to assert.

On the AST website, John Allee goes to great lengths to discredit LaVey and the CoS. One only need read a little to see that this gentleman, like others appears to be a bitter ex-member of the CoS. I used to be interested in this man's interpretations but wondered 'why the animosity toward the CoS?' It seems most ex-members have a bone to pick. My anger moved further in reading this:

Since I just read the book, I'll tell you what he CHOSE TO LEAVE OUT.
LaVey goes on to say:

"My lies are not about myself. My accusers and detractors go to great lengths to show that they are. They miss the entire show while concentrating on the reflection. Those who are first to accuse me of falsification are themselves living examples of fakery incarnate. Some even know it."
More interestingly LaVey states:
"I say 'keep my mouth shut'- I want to emphasize that part, because that is the organ from whence my most incurable lies eminate. I would have made a good PR man, because my most flagrant lies are to other people, about themselves. If the Devil is a flatterer, I do my job well."

In finishing Allee's selective quote, I'm sure in relation to what is also said on the page, LaVey would have ended with "You're a true Satanist Mr. Allee" lol.

It certainly would appear that Traditionalists, Deists, Theists and Spiritual 'Satanists' have this incurable urge to build upon LaVey's work and then bite the very hand that fed them.

And what would a site like this have to gain? What does Allee Shadow tradition have to gain from public CoS slander?

Nothing.

That anyone would put his efforts into slandering or discrediting another, I think, is often telling. In my observation, such antics usually illustrate that the attacker has little to nothing of value that he can offer by himself. Such a person resorts to devaluing what others have built and offered to inflate the value of himself and what he offers in comparison.

To the extent that such a person attracts others of similarly devoid character, he at least stands to gain great company... Great in numbers perhaps, but not in caliber.

So long as such people are more interested in discrediting the success and and relevance of others, they are less able to focus their efforts where these squarely belong: engaged in their own success.

That such people would be doomed to the irrelevance they so loudly assign to others is what I find most amusing.

LOL, I couldn't agree more, and that was pretty much LaVey's final word on the topic of his attackers as well.

Jaycm610, you are correct in each Satanist searching for wisdom undefiled...your own truths are that which best describe the term.
