I had posted this originally as an introduction. It contains my personal thoughts on being a modern Satanist, and these ideas are inspired by a book that changed my views as a human being. The Satanic Bible is pretty much around me all the time, and I've studied far more of LaVey's writing. I have also researched many of his influences such as the OTO, Thelema and am now studying Norse based dark faiths. I find it may perhaps be fitting as a submission here, I could write up historical facts and the sources of my research, but I think for many of us, common knowledge by now of these scribed fearful christian pew filling fantasies. The fact that underlies, is that Devil symbolism always was a manly creation, such is "god" as well. No deity has ever written a book.
Magic and occult to me can be defined as scientific breakthroughs and practices, be they viewed as primitive lab experiments or not. Either way there's a strong power in relation to the mind and psychological interpretations the psycho drama has to offer. I respect other LHP faiths regardless of their "isms" as the common means is enlightenment and most of all, to pursue your TRUTH. Evolution is best achieved through diversity indeed.
Here is my introductory "essay" based on personal fact in my chosen path on the LaVeyan trail of true Satanism.
I'm a believer in Science, and mankind's ability to seek wisdom through an attainable method. Man being as the modern evolved animal he is, still carries the fleshly pursuit. And why not? It holds stead fast that pleasures of the flesh are the indulgent high point of any stage during the life cycle. It is deeply suggested and commanded however, that we do not impose these delights to the unwilling, and do not regress our evolutionary stand point by roaming the earth like remorseless mechanical reptiles. Man is in fact a conscious being, a thinking, self aware beast with abilities in reason. His evolutionary pillared stand may have somehow come to a physical plateau, but this leaves the natural selection part of the evolutionary chain free to focus more on the mental aspect. Only in a short while during our "civilization" ("Christianization"), have we begun to understand that trepanation is not the way to cure bio chemical imbalances, or release "demons" as it were. It was only until the search for rational answers with material proof broke away from the hold of the pipe dream messiah.
Could it be however that we guide a lot of our scientific visions based on wonderment? Is wonderment not the mystifier and the educator for the more inquisitive? For many, wonderment is where it stays as their personal mind map is under developed and opaque with unfulfilled indulgences. To the inquisitive, the process can be far more abstract as this type will naturally hypothesize the mechanics of a feat and even begin to search beyond it. A true Satanist in my belief is by far the inquisitive type. We are but a curious kind, but refuse to stagnate and move to the next area of interest inspired by our evolutionary mature acceptance of free will. Free of having an antiquated but effective form of slavery, created by some whom were inquisitors them selves. Christianity, the "Genesis" of the mind separation of the two halves of inquisitive versus wonder. Wonder allows the mind to accept something as not to be understood, therefore magic, or miracle. The inquisitor and truly the Satanist is the man behind the curtain in his domain!!
Worship what you are, where you came from, and where your race as a whole will go with your influence. Satan is but who we are, our inner beast; the man made deity is that of a creation to appeal to those whom live in wonder. Science is the work of the "Devil" and to seek such knowledge was to be a heretic. Otherwise, if you know what the Christian priests know, you will be above "holy" men. Luciferian theory is that of the lightening bolt, ultimately a "stumble upon" evolutionary tool. It was man's inquisitive nature, but also the self preservation instinct that inspired the science behind devising a way in which to harness and utilize this first evolutionary step. Bringer of light. An excellent example of of an inquisitive animal is also that of the magician, Warlock or what can modernly be called a fringe scientist. Many prominent scientists work to understand little known "phenomena" and continually work to understand micro science of inner space and molecular manipulation with out dismissing answers as not to be known, or classing it as miraculous and forbidden knowledge. The same can be said for the magicians of the world, this is the perfection of deciphering a fringe science but also refining the ability to not tear away the mysterious nature of the equation. This is greatly respected on my behalf, and is viewed as having a gift toward an equal mixture of scientist and artist.
Being a modern Satanist I am inquisitive in nature myself, my interests lie within the brain, it's anatomical functions, biochemistry and my most favorite, it's cognitive abilities as influenced by the fore mentioned. In the same way an astronomer or Astra physicist seeks to reach the edge of the universe, I am so inclined to to search for the inner most "waiting to be found" answers within the brain and mind that makes up it's framework. Cognitive abilities influence your very own universe and the reflection of all that is you into a common conscious arena. This opinion has successfully breached to my instinctual, carnal self and influences my animal make up. The manner that has allowed me to reach such conclusions stems from a belief system. It is through Satanism, and the rules and statements as defined by Anton Szandor LaVey that I have found answers to maintaining cognitive and animal instinct cohesion. There is an art to deciphering the wonderment within the ritualistic psychodrama that so few are gifted enough to master. There is a science in the philosophy of how to influence the world around you to better evolve. These principles effect the mental and physical reward of your current stand point in the universe.
The Satanist is able to seek any truth he can fathom with out any area blocked by a thought dyke to trickle the flow. The crux of the belief is in your self, and not that of the need to inhibit your very own will; Christianity, what a counter productive seed that is planted immediately following the exit of the womb. In free will you are a scientist and an artist on a search for your own truths, and a perfectionist toward your evolutionary rite. Anything other is to lead a short, mundane, well managed existence as a resource for the inquisitive, but don't let that statement discourage every one, because we need them too; It's symbiotic! Satanism as a core system is my make up, my genetic path, and the philosophy my cognitive map has set in place in it's influences on my evolutionary rite. This started as impulses and processes until mirrored in philosophical research when exposed to the Satanic Bible. I search for wisdom undefiled and I am able to carry it out in a scientific manner while artistically utilizing my intuitions and instincts like that of a predator on a hunt. When we reach the sobering realization that we are the true gods, only then will the human animal be at it's richest and most fertile point of evolutionary momentum. There are infinite scientific truths to be unlocked, the fear of Pandora's box is the inability to search beyond the wonder and fear the wisdom. I am proud to be a Satanist, to worship both halves of the self in carnage and cognition, and to be on the path to achieving true free will.
